what this quote means is that don't do an action that is wrong. Don't say anything that is not true. If you do any wrong actions or wrong statements you will be a person hat you don't want to become.   for example if your friends are spreading a rumor that another person cheated on a test but it's not true speak up or don't help spread the rumor. if you just stay as a ctr person nothing you done right will be regretted
